Who I am

What I collect

If you use the contact form, I receive:

• Your name
• Your email address
• What you need: custom software, an app, automation, integrations, a website, ongoing support, or not sure yet
• Your message
• A phone number, if you add one
• A business name, if you add one

Name, email, what you need, and the message are required. Phone and business name are optional. When budget ranges are published, the form also asks for an optional budget, and I receive whatever you choose. It doesn’t ask for payment details, and you don’t need an account.

The form also sends a subject line (“New enquiry from handcoded.com.au”) and the name “Handcoded website”, so I can see the email came from this site. A hidden spam check is included. Leave it empty. A public form key tells the form service which inbox to use. That key isn’t personal information.

If you email or call me instead, I receive whatever you send: your email address or phone number, and what you say.

Why I collect it

I use those details to read your enquiry, reply to you, and keep a record if we work together. I don’t sell personal information. I don’t add you to a marketing list, and I don’t use your details for advertising.

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, I should tell you what I collect and why, collect only what I need for that, and use it for that purpose. That’s what this page is for.

The contact form

The form is sent to Web3Forms, which emails the submission to hello@handcoded.com.au. Web3Forms needs the details in the form to make that delivery. Their privacy policy describes how they handle it. Web3Forms servers may be outside Australia.

Hosting

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you open a page, Cloudflare handles the request. That can include your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and basic browser details, in connection and security logs. I don’t use Cloudflare for analytics. Cloudflare servers may be outside Australia. Cloudflare’s privacy policy covers how they handle that.

Fonts, analytics and cookies

The type on this site (Archivo, Geist, and Geist Mono) is self-hosted. Your browser loads the font files from handcoded.com.au. It doesn’t call Google Fonts or any other font service.

This website doesn’t use analytics. It doesn’t set cookies, and it doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies. There’s no cookie banner because I haven’t added a cookie or analytics tool. The site doesn’t store anything about you in your browser.

How long I keep it

Enquiry emails land in my inbox at hello@handcoded.com.au. I keep them for as long as I need them to reply, and to remember what we discussed if a project goes ahead. When I no longer need them, I delete them. I don’t run a separate customer database on this website. If I have to keep a copy for a legal reason, I’ll keep it only for that reason.

Web3Forms and Cloudflare may keep their own copies for delivery, security, and logs. I don’t control how long they keep them. Their privacy policies cover that.

Overseas

I’m in Australia. To run this site I use Web3Forms and Cloudflare, and their servers may be outside Australia. They only receive what they need to deliver the form or to host the site. I don’t send your details overseas for marketing. The Australian Privacy Principles ask me to tell you when personal information may go overseas. This is that disclosure.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect what I hold. The site is served over HTTPS, and the form is sent to Web3Forms over HTTPS. Email isn’t a perfect vault. Don’t send passwords or card numbers through the form.

Access and correction

You can ask me what personal information I hold about you, and you can ask me to correct it if it’s wrong. Email hello@handcoded.com.au. I’ll respond within a reasonable time. If I can’t give you something, I’ll tell you why.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, email hello@handcoded.com.au and I’ll look into it. If you’re not satisfied with my response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints, or call 1300 363 992.
